Pianist Accompanist

Job Description: The position of Pianist Accompanist will primarily focus on providing service 
music and accompaniment for worship services. This is a part-time, support staff position, 
requiring 6-7 hours per week.

Reports to: FBC Worship Arts Director

General Responsibilities:
•  Assist in the music ministry of the church by playing the piano as needed.
•  Be prepared, prompt and reliable.
•  Must be able to read music.
•  Understand your role as an important part of the ministry of the church and cooperate with the staff as you work together toward a common goal of leading in meaningful worship.

Specific Responsibilities:
•  Play the piano in worship services.
•  Arrange for practicing with special groups, i.e. brass, hand bells, soloists, ensembles, as well 
as the accompanying the different choirs and congregational singing.
•  Play the piano for special services such as Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and others, as 
requested by the Worship Arts Director.
•  Coordinate with the Worship Arts Director the regular tuning of the pianos.
•  Notify the Worship Arts Director as soon as possible in advance of your absence from a service 
or rehearsal.
•  Other duties as assigned by the Worship Arts Director.
 
Salary & PTO:
•  Salary to be commensurate with education, experience, as well as ability to play other 
instruments.
•  Salary, merit raises or COLA increases are considered yearly by the Staff Relations Ministry 
Team and the Financial Ministry Team. Compensation is finalized after approval of the proposed 
annual budget by the congregation.
•  It is agreed that musician will receive two weeks’ paid vacation, per calendar year, prorated, 
with no additional paid benefits.
•  Employee agrees to abide by the policies in the Employee Handbook.
